The International Albacore Association (IAA) and the USAA are proud of the long history of the Albacore Class around the world and in the US. A testament to the design and the builders is the fact that a number of the early boats are still in existence.
The early years were an exciting time for the class as its growth and competitiveness were incredibly high. However, as most of the regattas and championships have been well recorded and preserved through the Class Associations, the quiet and untold stories of how the Albacore has been used during the years is an area of fascination for the Class history buffs.
On these pages we pay tribute to some of those stories.
