Dolly plans or measurements

Postby djgoodwill » Sun Jul 20, 2014 8:11 pm

A question came in through CAA contact form. The question is from Jim Warren:
I am a former Albacore racer(#6584)and now have only an older albacore at my cottage. I need plans or measurements to build my own launching dolly. Can anyone supply me with plans or measurements?

You can contact James through me, if necessary

The easiest way, if you are anywhere near the Toronto / Lake Simcoe area, is to just buy one from the Marine cradle Shop. It's what the TO community clubs use and they work fine as long as you aren't using them in salt water.

They will ship if you aren't nearby, but shipping isn't cheap.

Not sure about plans, but I don't think there's much in the way of tight tolerances for this application - a long piece of box steel with a handle on the end, plus a shorter cross piece with wheels attached.
