Fairey Marine #92

Postby Fairey92 » Sat Nov 02, 2013 9:56 pm

Hi everyone, this is my first post as I have been reading many of the past threads to gain information on vintage International 14's. I have been doing research on a sailboat that has been in my family's possession for a number of years and stumbled onto this forum and was hoping the very knowledgeable people in this community could help me with the history of a vintage Albacore.

My father was fortunate to receive Fairey Marine Albacore #92 as a restoration project many years ago from a co-worker. At the time, he was in contact with a few people in England who provided him with some great advice on the upcoming restoration. Unfortunately, for many reasons the restoration project was never undertaken and boat has been residing in the basement of their home ever since.

Following up on my father’s initial research I found many great pieces of information here and read an old post that stated this particular Albacore #92 was originally sold to George O'Day:

I was wondering if anyone had any further information regarding the history of this boat in particular? I am planning on getting more pictures of the hull and sails in the coming weeks but I did post a picture of the brass serial plate that accompanied the boat:

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide to me!
